The 3rd Annual Bob Dylan Birthday Tribute will be held Friday, May 23rd and Saturday, May 24th at The Falcon in Englewood, Colorado. More than 80 Colorado musicians will perform the songs of recent Pulitzer Prize winner Bob Dylan, celebrating his 67th Birthday while raising funds for a great local music education service. The Colorado Blues Society leads the FREE Blues in the Schools community service education program and sponsors shows to hook up performers and venues in Colorado. Their Blues in the Schools Ambassadors continue to visit Colorado schools on a regular basis. Educators who may want a Blues visit from their talented groups are encouraged to contact the Colorado Blues Society at 303-415-2737. In 2006, local musician and event producer Dewey Paul Moffitt, of the Dewey Paul Band, created the initial "Dylan65" event which featured 36 Colorado musicians paying tribute on Dylan's 65th Birthday. The event was a sensational success and returned last year with more than 50 area musicians performing at "Dylan66". The excitement generated at these events spawned the All-Star Bob Dylan cover group, Dylan66 which toured all over Colorado last summer. Previous tributes have featured inspiring and soulful renditions of Dylan material in both the acoustic and electric formats. Members of Jerry Garcia Band, Leftover Salmon, Double Parked, The Railbenders, Sonia Dada, The Trampolines, and more have joined Moffitt on stage along with prominent area singer-songwriters like the late and great Terry Dalton. This year's festival style line-up will feature many repeat performers, as well as several bands and up and coming singer-songwriters. Scheduled to appear are: Dylan66, Arnie J.
